Fazry was born in Klang, Malaysia. He joined EPA in 2014 as a visual correspondent for the country. He covers major news and sports events as well as features, both nationally and internationally, including the Olympic Games in Rio (2016), Pyeongchang (2018), Tokyo (2020), Beijing (2022) and Paris (2024), the Hajj in Saudi Arabia and the Hong Kong protests in 2019. Fazry earned 1st place 2022 Pictures of the Year International (POYi) in the general news category and is a Canon Ambassador. He won Special Merit in the World Sports Photography Awards 2025.
Jury
Joshua Paul is a Malaysian visual journalist and Netflix-certified Director of Photography at Vice News. Beginning in commercial photography, he developed a cinematic style that defined his later work with the Associated Press, where he covered major events like the MH370 and MH17 tragedies. Specializing in conflict, migration, and social issues, his work has appeared in TIME and The New York Times. A Canadian Screen Award nominee, Joshua’s storytelling spans stills and motion, blending technical precision with human empathy. He continues to produce high-end documentaries and investigative pieces exploring global resilience and complex human narratives.
Amanda Tan, known as Cxpturing Souls, is a visual storyteller and pet photographer capturing raw emotion, identity, and soulful moments,both human and animal.

FAQ
Can people in the same household send in multiple entries or is one household limited to only three (3) entries?
Each individual can submit a maximum of three (3) pictures. There is no limit to how many family members in a family can submit, as long as each person only submits three (3) pictures.
Is there a criteria for the smartphone that can be used (Apple or Android)?
No, you can use any smartphone as long as it can capture photos in high resolution.
Do the pictures have to be submitted in a specific format?
The pictures should be submitted in JPG or PNG format, in high resolution.
Must the submissions only be in colour?
No, they can also be in black & white or greyscale. Editing is permitted as long as it does not alter the reality.
Who is eligible to join this competition?
Anybody above 13 years of age are eligible to join. 13 to 17 year olds can submit under the YOUTH category and 18 years old and above will fall under the OPEN category.
Is the competition only open to Malaysians?
The competition is open to Malaysians and non-Malaysians that are currently residing in Malaysia.
Can we use editing softwares (Canva, Adobe Photoshop, etc) to edit the photographs?
Yes, any editing software is allowed so long as the editing does not alter the reality in the photo.
How do we submit our photos?
Submission can only be done via filling in this form. There is no other method of submission.
Can we fill in the submission form multiple times?
It is recommended to submit all your submissions at once in one single form, but in the instance that you have submitted one photo and would like to submit one or two more, you can fill in the form again. The submissions will be capped at three (3) photos.
What happens if I submit more than three (3) photos?
The subsequent submission(s) after the third photo will not be taken into consideration.
Can I withdraw a submission once it has been submitted and resubmit a different photo?
No.
How will I know if I have won?
Winners will receive notification via email and there will also be an announcement on MCMC’s social media pages and the PAKEJ-JENDELA Photos website.
When will the winners be announced?
The judges will deliberate after the contest closes on the 11 January 2026, and winners should be announced approximately a month later.
Do I own the rights to my photo?
Yes, however submitting your entry for this photo competition, you give the organisers the right to use the photos in MCMC materials in the future with your name credited, with no financial compensation.
